Is Pottery Barn stalking soon-to-be brides through Facebook?

Weird. This article from Consumerist.com explains how a recently engaged couple, who never notified any retailers or websites about their big news, received an e-mail from Pottery Barn inviting them to start a Web registry. Why would Pottery Barn send an invitation to create a wedding gift registry to someone who hasn't even signed up or informed any other retailers about their upcoming wedding?
